CRA Recertification

To maintain the CRA credential, CRAs must obtain 36 eligible continuing education (CE) credits every 3 years. No more than 18 CRA CE credits used on a CRA renewal can come from any single domain (content) area. CRAs must submit a $175 recertification fee with the 36 CE credits before their renewal deadline.

On the first CRA renewal, candidates who have successfully passed the CRA examination will be awarded 12 CRA CE credits. The 12 credits are considered part of the 36 credits necessary to maintain the CRA credential in the first triennium.

Pre-Approved CRA Credits

As a service to CRAs, CE providers can apply for CRA domain certification for their CE credits—these CE have been determined to meet all CRA renewal requirements in the approved domain(s). A list of all CE that have been pre-approved for CRA renewals for the previous 3 years is online. All CE opportunities sponsored by AHRA have been evaluated for CRA domain and these domains (where applicable) are listed in AHRA’s promotional materials and on AHRA’s CE Letters.

CRA Renewal Tracking Sheets

Electronic versions of the CRA Renewal Tracking Sheet are available online: PDF, Excel.

If you have completed your CE requirements through AHRA sponsored activities only, you may be able to renew without a tracking sheet. Click here for more information.

Eligible CE Credits

CE credits for the CRA credential must relate to one of the 5 domain (content) areas tested on the CRA examination (e.g., Human Resource Management, Asset Resource Management, Fiscal Management, Operations Management, and Communication and Information Management).
