The honor of achieving the CRA credential in 2007 was a very proud moment for me. I feel that the credential validates all that I have experienced in the last 37 years in imaging. I consider myself someone who “grew up” in imaging from the role of staff radiographer to Administrative Director. I have worked in hospitals, outpatient centers and as a MRI Applications Specialist. The beauty of imaging is that there is always something to learn and always something to share.
I have imaging responsibility for a 440 bed Level II Trauma/Stroke center, a 100 bed community hospital and the School of Radiology in our health system. Both hospitals are accredited by the Joint Commission and ACR and our school by the JCERT. Our imaging leadership job descriptions prefer CRA credential and I am proud to say that each member of our imaging management team is a CRA. I would like to help ensure that those who led the way and developed the CRA are honored by those new CRA members that follow in their path.
