Disclosure of Proposed Changes to RACC Term Cycle: CRA Comment Requested
The Radiology Administration Certification Commission (RACC) is continually striving to improve
our processes to better serve our members and uphold the high standards of the Certified
Radiology Administrator (CRA) credential.
During our last RACC meeting, we discussed a potential change to better align the RACC term cycle
with that of the AHRA Board of Directors. This proposed change stems from our ongoing efforts to
streamline our processes, enhance participation, and ensure that both the RACC and AHRA are
working in harmony towards our shared goals. The new term cycle will run from August through July.
This proposal will extend the current commissioners' terms thru July of next year, allowing for a
smooth transition and alignment with the new term cycle, ensuring that future terms are consistent
with the updated August start date moving forward.
Why This Change is Needed
- Streamlined Operations: By aligning the RACC term cycle with the AHRA Board of Directors,
we can better synchronize our budgets, election cycles, and strategic planning. This
alignment will help ensure that both entities are on the same calendar, which is crucial for
effective collaboration and resource management.
- Increased Participation: One of the concerns raised in our discussions was the potential for
increased member participation in elections. Having a consolidated timeline could reduce
confusion and make it easier for members to engage with both RACC and AHRA processes,
thereby increasing overall participation.
- Clear Delineation of Roles: While we see the benefits of aligning the timelines, it's important
to note that the RACC will remain a distinct entity from AHRA. This change is intended to
improve operational efficiency while preserving the autonomy of the RACC in its governance
and certification processes.
Next Steps
In accordance with our policies, we want to ensure that all members are informed and have the
opportunity to provide feedback before any changes are finalized. We value your input and believe
that it is essential to our decision-making process.
We invite you to review the details of this proposed change and share your thoughts with us. We will
compile member feedback and address it in our upcoming meetings before making a final decision.
