Transfer and Cancellation Rules

UPDATE regarding exam rescheduling: Due to concerns about Covid-19, if you choose to, you may reschedule your exam date from the 2020 Spring Exam time frame to the 2020 Fall Exam time frame with no rescheduling/cancellation fee. Please contact nmizell@ahra.org BY APRIL 30, 2020 to shift your exam date. If any exam is cancelled due to Coronavirus concerns, you will not be charged a fee.

Additionally, the 2020 Spring Exam time frame has been extended from May 1 through May 30, 2020 to May 1 through June 30, 2020.

The following are the standard rules and procedures regarding the CRA exam, which are currently superseded by the statement above, in response to COVID-19 circumstances. We continue to monitor the Covid-19 public health crisis closely, and will continue to adjust our policies as needed to assure the safety and well-being of our participants. Standard Policy & Procedures:  (Currently being waived because of the global pandemic. Effective as of April 1, 2020)
Any cancellation or transfer of application must be made at least 5 business days before a CRA exam appointment and is subject to a $100 handling fee. No partial or full refunds will be available for missed exam appointments or for transfers or cancellations made less than 5 business days before a scheduled exam. All requests for transfer or cancellations must be made in writing.  It is the candidate’s responsibility to ensure communications have been received in a timely manner.

Transfer and Cancellation Procedures
Transfer of an unscheduled exam: 
1. If a candidate has NOT scheduled the exam through Scantron’s NTS system and wishes to transfer to a different testing window (e.g. from the May window to the November window), the candidate must make a written request to the CRA program.
2. Candidates are responsible for any difference in exam fees.
3. Late fees are not refundable under any circumstances.

Transfer of a scheduled exam within the same testing window (e.g. transfer from November 10 to November 25): 
1. Exam appointments scheduled through Scantron’s NTS system must be rescheduled through the same NTS system at least 5 business days in advance of the appointment. Candidates will be charged $100 to reschedule the exam appointment.

Transfer of a scheduled exam to a different testing window (e.g. from the November window to the May window): 
1. Exam appointments scheduled through Scantron’s NTS system must be cancelled through the same NTS system at least 5 business days in advance of the appointment. Candidates will be charged $100 to cancel the exam appointment.
2. Candidates must also make a written request to the CRA program to transfer to a different exam window.  
3. Candidates are responsible for any difference in exam fees.
4. Late fees are not refundable under any circumstances.

Cancellation of an unscheduled exam:
